The Story
The Taycan is Porsche’s first electric car — and the EV that proved an electric Porsche could still be a Porsche. Launched in 2019, this low-slung four-door GT was engineered from the ground up to drive, not just to accelerate: a pioneering 800-volt architecture (for blistering charging and repeatable performance), a unique two-speed rear transmission, near-perfect weight distribution, and steering and body control that feel unmistakably Porsche. It ranges from an accessible rear-drive saloon to the savage Turbo S and the 1,019-PS Turbo GT, with practical Sport Turismo and lifted Cross Turismo wagon bodies too.
