The Story

The Divo was Bugatti’s answer to the question its richest clients kept asking: what if the W16 hypercar could actually carve a corner? Revealed at The Quail in 2018 and named after Albert Divo — the works driver who won the Targa Florio twice for Bugatti in the 1920s — it is a Chiron reimagined for agility. Same 1,500 PS quad-turbo W16, but with a wider track, retuned suspension, 456 kg of downforce (90 kg more than a Chiron), and a top speed deliberately cut to 236 mph to free up cornering grip.

Only 40 were built, each ~€5 million, and all sold before the public ever saw the car. The Divo also reopened Bugatti’s coachbuilding chapter — the first of the limited ‘few-off’ specials (Centodieci, La Voiture Noire, Bolide, Mistral) that followed.

For Studio Motors it is the connoisseur’s Chiron: rarer, more focused, and the car that proved Bugatti could build for the road that bends, not just the road that’s straight.

Studio Motors POV

The most usable-as-intended of Bugatti’s coachbuilds — a W16 hypercar genuinely built to be driven hard where the road turns. Forty cars make it truly rare, and its ‘first of the modern coachbuilds’ status gives it a story the later cars borrow from.

Studio Buyer’s Brief

With only 40 built and all spoken for, condition and originality are paramount — delivery-mileage cars dominate. Verify the bespoke commission spec (each was individually tailored) and full Bugatti documentation. Value rests on rarity and its ‘first modern coachbuilt Bugatti’ status, so original, unmodified examples with complete history are the ones to hold.
