The Story
The Bolide is what happens when Bugatti stops being polite. It began in 2020 as a ‘what if’ — strip the W16 of every gram of luxury and build the most extreme track car the engine could carry. The concept was a barely-believable 1,825 PS at under 1,250 kg; the production car that followed in 2024, capped at 40 units and €4 million each, settles for ‘only’ 1,600 PS and a 1,450 kg dry weight.
It is track-only and unapologetic: a carbon monocoque, a fighter-jet driving position, X-shaped lights inspired by the Bell X-1, and a cooling system so single-minded it has no onboard fans — the car is pushed, not driven, into the garage. Top speed is limited to 311 mph.
For Studio Motors it is the W16 at its most undiluted — the closest Bugatti has come to building a hypercar brand’s Le Mans prototype for private hands.
