The Story
The Huracán had the hardest brief in Sant’Agata: replace the Gallardo, the car that had just saved the company. It didn’t merely match it — it became the best-selling Lamborghini in history, blowing past the Gallardo’s 14,022 and topping 20,000 by the time it retired in 2024. The ‘junior’ V10 Lambo turned out to be the most important one of all.
Filippo Perini swapped Gandini-era folds for sharp, stealth-fighter surfacing and gave it Lamborghini’s first fully digital cockpit. Underneath sat a 5.2-litre V10 shared with the Audi R8 — 601 hp at launch in the all-wheel-drive LP610-4 — and a chassis usable enough to drive every day, which is exactly why people did. Over a decade it spawned an entire family: Performante, STO, Tecnica, EVO, even the rally-styled Sterrato.
History will remember it for one more thing: it was the last naturally-aspirated V10 Lamborghini. Its successor, the Temerario, goes twin-turbo V8 hybrid — which makes this operatic, free-breathing ten-cylinder a future classic the moment the music stops.
