Porsche 911 Dakar (992)
2022/2023 · Porsche 911 Dakar (992) — Sports Car, Flat-6 Twin-Turbo, designed by Michael Mauer.
The Story
The 911 Dakar is the gloriously bonkers off-road 911 — a raised, all-terrain, rally-inspired 992 that’s as joyous as it is unexpected. Launched in 2022 in a run of 2,500, it raises the 911’s ride height by 50 mm (with a further 30 mm of hydraulic lift available up to 105 mph), adds knobbly Pirelli Scorpion all-terrain tyres, underbody protection, towing eyes and a bespoke aero kit — and turns the world’s great sports car into something that can genuinely slide across a desert. It’s a heartfelt homage to the 953 that won the 1984 Paris-Dakar Rally (Porsche’s first dedicated sports car to win that brutal event, and the forerunner of the 959). Silly, pointless, and — every reviewer agrees — utterly, addictively brilliant.

Questions
911 Dakar (992) FAQ
What engine does the Porsche 911 Dakar use?
The 911 Dakar uses the GTS-specification 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged flat-six producing 473 hp (480 PS) and 420 lb-ft of torque. It pairs with an 8-speed PDK and all-wheel drive, reaching 60 mph in 3.2 seconds. Top speed is limited to 149 mph by its all-terrain tyres.
How many Porsche 911 Dakars were built?
Porsche built exactly 2,500 examples of the 911 Dakar, all of which sold out before deliveries began in 2023. The car was unveiled at the November 2022 Los Angeles Motor Show and takes its name from the legendary Dakar Rally, which Porsche won in 1984 with a 953-based 911.
What is the Porsche 911 Dakar worth today?
The 911 Dakar, with all 2,500 units already sold, consistently trades well above its $222,000 MSRP. Current Classic.com and Porsche Finder data show benchmarks and listings frequently above $330,000, with Rallye Design Package and low-mileage examples commanding higher premiums.
How does the 911 Dakar differ from a standard Carrera GTS?
The Dakar shares the GTS engine but adds a 50 mm raised ride height, a further 30 mm standard lift system (hydraulic, not pneumatic), all-terrain Pirelli Scorpion tyres, underbody protection, and rally-derived styling with roof-rail mounts.
How do I source a Porsche 911 Dakar through Studio Motors?
