The Story

The Panamera 971 fixed the one thing everyone criticised about the original — the looks — and sharpened everything else into one of the best sports saloons in the world. Launched in 2016 on an all-new platform, it was longer, lower, far more handsome, and added a gorgeous ‘Sport Turismo’ shooting-brake body that’s prettier still. The range spanned efficient V6s to the storming Turbo and the technical tour de force Turbo S E-Hybrid — a 680-PS plug-in hybrid with ‘warp drive’ acceleration. It set a four-door Nürburgring saloon record, pampered occupants with a beautiful digital cabin, and drove with genuine Porsche athleticism. Fast, beautiful, luxurious and brilliant to drive, the 971 is the Panamera fully realised.

Studio Buyer’s Brief

The Turbo and Turbo S E-Hybrid are the performance flagships; the Sport Turismo body is the connoisseur’s (and most practical) pick; the V6 4S is the value sweet spot. Verify spec, history and the air suspension/electronics. A well-specified, documented 971 — ideally a Sport Turismo — is a superb, fast, luxurious four-door; buy on spec and condition.
