The Story
The Valkyrie is the closest thing to a Formula 1 car ever made road-legal. Conceived in 2016 as the AM-RB 001 – a Red Bull-Aston collaboration partly engineered to keep design genius Adrian Newey from defecting to Ferrari – it pairs a Cosworth 6.5-litre naturally-aspirated V12 that screams to 11,100 rpm (the most powerful NA road engine ever) with a hybrid system for ~1,140 bhp.
Newey’s full F1 aero playbook went into it: a near-total Venturi underfloor makes huge ground-effect downforce with almost no visible wings. 150 Coupes, plus 85 Spiders and 40 track-only AMR Pros. It later spawned a Le Mans Hypercar racer – the only road-born hypercar to fight at the top in both WEC and IMSA.
