Ferrari 12Cilindri
2024–present · Ferrari 12Cilindri — Grand Tourer, V12, designed by Ferrari Styling Centre (Flavio Manzoni).
The Story
The 12Cilindri is the front-engined V12 grand tourer that replaces the 812 Superfast, revealed in Miami Beach on 3 May 2024 to mark Ferrari’s 70th anniversary in the American market. Its name is the headline: spelled as one word, ’12Cilindri’ (dodici cilindri, Italian for ‘twelve cylinders’), it’s a declaration. In an age where rivals turbocharge or electrify their twelves, Ferrari kept its 6.5L naturally aspirated F140 V12 entirely free of turbos and hybrid assist — meeting emissions law on the engine’s own merits and spinning it to a 9,500-rpm redline almost no other production engine can touch.
That engine, the F140 HD, makes 830 PS (819 hp) at 9,250 rpm, sent to the rear wheels through an 8-speed DCT. Ferrari fitted titanium con-rods (cutting 40% of rotating mass versus steel) to let the V12 rev as freely as it does. The car also gains rear-wheel steering, a stiffer all-aluminium chassis (~15% stiffer than the 812, 20 mm shorter wheelbase) and active aero. 0–100 km/h takes a claimed 2.9 s, top speed 340 km/h (211 mph).
What truly sets it apart is the look. Designed by the Ferrari Styling Centre under Flavio Manzoni, the 12Cilindri abandons the 812’s sculptural curves for a minimalist, almost sci-fi form crowned by a polarising full-width ‘black visor’ band across the nose that evokes the 1968 365 GTB/4 Daytona ‘Plexi’ cars. A 12Cilindri Spider with a retractable hardtop joins the coupe. Why it matters: this may be one of the very last unassisted V12 GTs Ferrari ever builds — and, by most accounts, a magnificent one.

Studio Motors POV
Building a brand-new, 9,500-rpm naturally aspirated V12 with no turbos and no hybrid in 2024 is an act of glorious defiance — and the 12Cilindri pulls it off. The styling will argue with you forever, but the engine ends the argument.

What Reviewers Said About 12Cilindri
Worth Knowing About the 12Cilindri
3 Things You Didn’t Know
- • The divisive full-width 'black visor' mask across the nose deliberately echoes the 1968 365 GTB/4 Daytona; Andrew Frankel called the car 'the most impressive and… likeable attempt to create a thoroughly modern Daytona.'
- • It revs to a 9,500-rpm redline, made possible by titanium con-rods that cut rotating mass 40% versus steel — the model is literally named after its 12-cylinder engine.
- • There's no fixed rear wing — two active aero flaps in the rear deck stay flush in low-drag mode and pop up to 10° between ~60 and 300 km/h for up to 50 kg of downforce.
5 Fast Facts
- • 6.5L NA F140 HD V12: 830 PS (819 hp) @ 9,250 rpm, 678 Nm @ 7,250 rpm — no turbos, no hybrid.
- • 0–100 km/h in 2.9 s; 0–200 in 7.9 s; top speed 340 km/h (211 mph).
- • Unveiled Miami Beach 3 May 2024; offered as coupe and 12Cilindri Spider.
- • 8-speed DCT, RWD, rear-wheel steering; all-aluminium chassis ~15% stiffer than the 812.
- • US base price ~$459,000.

Famous Owners
None verified. The car is very new (deliveries began mid-2025); no documented celebrity owner could be confirmed from a reliable source — not guessed.
Studio Buyer’s Brief
The central choice is coupe vs Spider: the retractable-hardtop Spider trades a little rigidity for open-air access to that V12 soundtrack and will likely command a premium. The design is genuinely polarising — the black-visor nose divides buyers, so cars optioned to flatter (or downplay) that graphic matter to resale. The strongest long-term case is significance: as one of the last unassisted, free-revving NA V12 GTs in a hybridising market, it’s a probable future blue-chip. The early market is thin and demand outstrips supply (Ferrari reportedly sold out into 2026–27) — verify allocation, delivery date and spec; expect markups on early cars. Too new for a fault record, so prioritise full Ferrari history and originality.

Questions
12Cilindri FAQ
What engine powers the Ferrari 12Cilindri?
The 12Cilindri uses a naturally aspirated 6.5-litre V12 producing 819 hp (830 PS) at 9,250 rpm with a 9,500 rpm redline — the same redline as the limited-production 812 Competizione, now in regular production. An 8-speed dual-clutch gearbox drives the rear wheels, with Ferrari claiming 30 percent faster shifts than the outgoing unit, reaching 62 mph in 2.9 seconds and 211 mph (340 km/h) flat out.
What does the name 12Cilindri mean?
12Cilindri is Italian for 12 cylinders, naming the car directly after its defining mechanical element. Ferrari unveiled the 12Cilindri on 3 May 2024 in Miami Beach, chosen to coincide with the 70th anniversary of Ferrari’s presence in the American market and underscoring the V12’s historic significance to the brand in the US.
What did the Ferrari 12Cilindri replace and how does it compare?
The 12Cilindri replaced the 812 Superfast coupe and 812 GTS Spider as Ferrari’s front-engine V12 flagship. It raises power from 789 hp to 819 hp, extends the redline from 8,900 rpm to 9,500 rpm, and introduces a new 8-speed dual-clutch gearbox that shifts 30 percent faster than the 7-speed unit in the outgoing car.
Why is the Ferrari 12Cilindri significant in Ferrari’s modern lineup?
The 12Cilindri achieves 819 hp from a naturally aspirated V12 without any turbocharging or hybridization, meeting Euro 6E emissions standards on combustion power alone. Ferrari’s engineering leadership has stated the intention to keep the naturally aspirated V12 in production for as long as regulations allow, making the 12Cilindri the marque’s current flagship expression of pure internal combustion performance.
Can you source a Ferrari 12Cilindri through Studio Motors?
Yes. The 12Cilindri is Ferrari’s current front-engine V12 flagship, available in both coupe and Spider form.
