The Story
The 2018 Vantage was a clean break: Aston’s compact two-seat sports car reborn on the bonded-aluminium architecture and powered by Mercedes-AMG’s 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 (503 bhp). Where the elegant 2005 car was pretty, this one was a predator – ‘hunter’ nose, bobtail rear, snarling stance – aimed squarely at the Porsche 911 and AMG GT.
A 7-speed manual was briefly offered (a rarity among rivals); the V12 Vantage (2022) and a hard 2024 facelift (656 bhp, far better cabin) followed. Since 2021 the Vantage has served as the official Formula 1 Safety Car – making it the most-watched Aston on earth.
