The Story

The DBX is the car that had to work: Aston’s first SUV and the volume model meant to underwrite everything else. Launched in 2020 and built at an all-new factory in St Athan, Wales – the first Welsh-built production car in nearly 50 years – it used the Mercedes-AMG 4.0 V8 (542 bhp).

In 2022 the DBX707 arrived with 697 bhp, ball-bearing turbos and a wet-clutch 9-speed, billed as the world’s most powerful luxury SUV – taking the fight to the Lamborghini Urus, Bentley Bentayga and Ferrari Purosangue.

Studio Motors POV

The most usable Aston ever made and the one keeping the lights on – the 707 is a genuinely thrilling super-SUV, not a badge exercise. Skip the base car; the 707 is the only DBX worth the keys.

Famous Owners

No individual celebrity owner verified. The DBX is Aston’s volume model – widely owned, but no notable documented names confirmed.

Studio Buyer’s Brief

The DBX707 is the one to buy – faster AND better resolved than the base 542 bhp DBX, with a sharper chassis and the wet-clutch 9-speed. Check air suspension, brakes and tyres (it’s heavy and very fast). Later cars (2023+) gained a much-improved interior and infotainment.
