The Story
The V12 Zagato was born on a racetrack. Created to celebrate 50 years of the Aston-Zagato partnership (since the 1960 DB4 GT Zagato), it debuted as a concept at Villa d’Este in 2011 – winning the Design Award – then went straight to the Nurburgring 24 Hours, where two cars (‘Zig’ and ‘Zag’) raced, one crewed by Aston CEO Ulrich Bez and evo’s Richard Meaden.
The road-going ‘Stradale’ (61 built) put the V12 Vantage’s 510 bhp 5.9 V12 under hand-formed, double-bubble Zagato bodywork. Marek Reichman called it ‘a collectible, not a consumable.’
