The Story
The Reventon was Lamborghini proving it could do theatre at any price. Take a Murcielago LP640 — already one of the most dramatic cars on earth — re-skin it in matte carbon-fibre facets inspired by the F-22 Raptor, build exactly 20 for customers (plus one for the museum), and charge a million euros. Demand pushed the real-world price past $1.5 million, making it the most expensive Lamborghini road car of its day.
Mechanically it’s pure Murcielago — the same 650-hp 6.5-litre Bizzarrini V12, the same all-wheel drive — but that was never the point. The point was the cockpit: three TFT screens in billet-aluminium binnacles, one showing actual lateral g-forces, like instrumentation borrowed from a fighter jet. Filippo Perini’s team didn’t style a car so much as a weapon.
It isn’t the fastest or rarest-engined Lamborghini, but it’s one of the most coveted — a 20-unit statement that the brand’s wildest impulses had no ceiling. You don’t buy a Reventon to drive. You buy it because almost no one else can.
