The Story

STO stands for Super Trofeo Omologata, and it means exactly what it says: this is the road-legal homologation of Lamborghini’s Super Trofeo and GT3 racers, the first Huracán the company says was developed track-first and road-second. The recipe is uncompromising — 631 hp 5.2-litre V10, rear-wheel drive only, a one-piece ‘cofango’ carbon front clamshell, a vast adjustable rear wing, and roughly 75% new bodywork over the standard car.

It’s the most single-minded Huracán ever built: stripped, loud and aero-obsessed, about as close as a numberplate gets to a GT3 car. And it converted the hardest sceptic in the business. Chris Harris — who has spent a career needling Lamborghini’s chassis — drove it and called it ‘the best Lambo I’ve driven in ten years.’

As the Huracán line wound toward retirement, the STO became its driver’s-car high point: the polar opposite of the Urus, and proof that beneath the theatre Lamborghini can build a genuinely brilliant track weapon.

Studio Motors POV

The STO is the Huracán that silenced the chassis critics — a GT3 car you can drive home. We rate it the most collectible non-Performante Huracán: buy a hero-colour example with honest, light track use.

Owners & what to look for

Famous Owners

No individual owner is firmly documented in this pass; the STO is a driving-focused collector car. (We don’t guess owners.)

Studio Buyer’s Brief

The STO is the driver’s Huracán and a strong bet as the NA-V10 era ends. Hero liveries (the Blu Laufey launch tri-tone), light track use and full service history drive value. Inspect the carbon cofango and aero for repairs; brakes and tyres take a beating. A clean, hero-spec coupé is the one.

Questions

Huracan STO FAQ

What does STO stand for on the Lamborghini Huracan STO?

STO stands for Super Trofeo Omologata, meaning it is homologated directly from Lamborghini’s one-make Super Trofeo and GT3 race car programme. It is the first Huracan Lamborghini describes as having been developed track-first and then adapted for the road.

How does the Huracan STO differ from the Huracan Performante?

Both produce 631 hp from the 5.2-litre V10, but the STO is rear-wheel drive and lighter at approximately 2,952 lb versus 3,047 lb for the AWD Performante. The STO replaces the Performante’s active ALA aerodynamics with greater fixed downforce and more extensive race-derived carbon bodywork.

How much does a Lamborghini Huracan STO cost?

New STO coupes were priced at approximately $327,838 at launch in 2021. On the used market, clean examples typically trade between $300,000 and $450,000 depending on specification, mileage and livery.

Is the Lamborghini Huracan STO a limited-edition car?

The STO was not a fixed limited edition; it was produced as a regular production variant from 2021 to 2024 alongside the broader Huracan range. Production ended with the wider Huracan line; the Temerario successor was revealed in August 2024, with customer deliveries beginning in January 2026.

Can you finance a Lamborghini Huracan STO?

Yes. The STO qualifies for specialist exotic-car financing through dedicated collector-car lenders.
