McLaren 620R
2019–2021 · McLaren 620R — Supercar, V8 Twin-Turbo, designed by Robert Melville.
The Story
The 620R is the closest McLaren ever came to selling you a race car with number plates. It’s a road-legal version of the 570S GT4 — same single-piece carbon MonoCell II, same competition-derived aero and suspension philosophy — reconfigured to 610 bhp, the most powerful Sports Series McLaren ever. Where the 600LT softened the track recipe for the road, the 620R barely bothered.
It rides on two-way manually adjustable motorsport coilovers, stops on track-spec carbon-ceramics, and wears a fixed, adjustable carbon wing (made road-legal only by adding a third brake light) that pushes up to 185 kg of downforce. McLaren built just 350, with an optional R Pack adding yet more carbon.
Reviewers were unanimous: this is a genuine race car for the road that, as Motoring Research put it, won’t let you forget it for a second. The rarest, most hardcore Sports Series McLaren — and a future cult collectible.

Studio Motors POV
The 620R is McLaren’s homologation-special-in-spirit: a GT4 racer you can register and drive home. Rare, uncompromising and underappreciated — exactly the kind of car values eventually catch up with.

Studio Buyer’s Brief
This is the rarest, most track-focused Sports Series car — buy one with the R Pack and sensible track history (sorted, not abused). The fixed wing and motorsport dampers are the point; don’t expect 570S comfort. Scarcity (350) plus its GT4 bloodline make it a strong future cult collectible.

Questions
620R FAQ
What is the McLaren 620R?
The McLaren 620R is the road-legal version of the 570S GT4 competition car, sharing the race car’s carbon aerodynamic package, adjustable suspension geometry, and 610 bhp from the uprated 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8 — the street car closest to an outright McLaren race car.
How much horsepower does the McLaren 620R produce?
The McLaren 620R produces 610 bhp (620 PS) and 457 lb-ft (620 Nm) of torque from a 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8 — unrestricted road-car output. The 620 in its name reflects the 620 PS metric figure; the related 570S GT4 race car used a regulation-limited output, not the same rating.
How fast is the McLaren 620R from 0 to 60 mph?
McLaren rates the 620R at 2.8 seconds to 60 mph and a top speed of 200 mph — performance enabled by its race-derived aerodynamic package generating significant downforce at track speeds.
How much is a McLaren 620R worth today?
McLaren 620R market data shows a Classic.com CMB around $246,000 and a TheClassicValuer average condition around £206,000. Asking prices can approach or exceed $300,000, reflecting its limited production and GT4-derived spec.
Can you lease or finance a McLaren 620R?
Yes. Specialty lenders structure collector-car leases and loans on track-focused limited-production McLarens including the 620R.
