Designed by Aston Martin / Ford Advanced Powertrain (Cosworth-built). The ‘AML V12’ begun 1994 at Ford’s Advanced Powertrain div (Aston was Ford-owned); all-new block/head/crank using some Ford Duratec V6 valvetrain/piston parts (NOT ‘two V6s welded’). Cosworth-built, later Cologne. Variant codes: AM11/AM28/AM29 (5.9/6.0); AM77 (7.3, Cosworth-reworked, 750 bhp) -> One-77 (folded here as a development of the 6.0).
