For one model year, Mercedes built the most expensive car it sold — then stopped at 300. The Mercedes-Maybach S 650 Cabriolet was the open-top apex of the S-Class range: the A217 cabriolet body, the 6.0 twin-turbo V12 (621 hp) shared with the S 65 AMG, and a level of trim and exclusivity Mercedes had never attempted in a droptop.
