Designed by Volkswagen. The 914/4 used Volkswagen’s air-cooled Type 4 flat-four (fuel-injected) — shared with the VW 411/412 and the later T2 Bus (see MORE CARS). The separate 914/6 used the Porsche 911 flat-six instead.
