Designed by Porsche (Weissach), program under Ernst Fuhrmann. Porsche’s FIRST production V8 (and first front-engine car), in the 928. All-alloy linerless block using the Alusil etched bore process; grown 4.5 L / 240 PS → 5.4 L / 350 PS (928 GTS, M28/41). European Car of the Year 1978 — the only sports car ever to win it.
