Designed by Porsche Motorsport (Weissach); program led by Frank-Steffen Walliser. The 918 Spyder’s race-derived 4.6 L V8 (M18.00), built on the RS Spyder LMP2 architecture — a ‘tamed racing engine’ revving to ~9,000 rpm, ~135 kg of titanium and aluminum. Engine alone 608 PS; combined plug-in-hybrid output 875 hp. One of the 2013 ‘Holy Trinity’ hypercars (with LaFerrari and McLaren P1).
